Client–server Computing

چکیده

Client–server computing is a distributed computing model in which client applications request services from server processes. Clients and servers typically run on different computers interconnected by a computer network. Any use of the Internet (q.v.), such as information retrieval (q.v.) from theWorldWideWeb (q.v.), is an example of client–server computing. However, the term is generally applied to systems in which an organization runs programs with multiple components distributed among computers in a network. The concept is frequently associated with enterprise computing, which makes the computing resources of an organization available to every part of its operation.

A Novel Method for VANET Improvement using Cloud Computing

In this paper, we present a novel algorithm for VANET using cloud computing. We accomplish processing, routing and traffic control in a centralized and parallel way by adding one or more server to the network. Each car or node is considered a Client, in such a manner that routing, traffic control, getting information from client and data processing and storing are performed by one or more serve...

Client / Server : Past , Present and Future

It's the purpose of this article to explain how the "Client/Server" architecture is really a fundamental enabling approach that provides the most flexible framework for using new technologies like the World Wide Web, as they come along. The old paradigm of host centric, time shared computing has given way to a new client/server approach, which is message based and modular. The examples below sh...

An Analysis of the Web-Based Client-Server Computing Models

This paper discusses models of Web-based client-server computing systems. We classify Web-based client-server computing systems into four groups and describe them using analytic models. We carry out a performance study of each model based on the changes of various parameters related to applications and components of the Web-based computing systems in order to determine basic properties of these...

Impact of Interactive Multimedia on Client-Server Performance

This work describes a simulation study of client-server architectures, and a UNIX-based le system with multimedia extensions. An interactive multime-dia workload is used to compare the throughput and scalability of the traditional and a new hybrid client-server architecture. Simulation results indicate that the hybrid client-server, combined with the multime-dia le system, is a promising distri...
